Media advisory

Montreal, Quebec, August 6, 2020—The Samuel De Champlain Bridge will be lit up with the colours of the Lebanese flag from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. this evening, Friday and Saturday to pay tribute to the victims of this week’s tragedy in Beirut and in solidarity with the Lebanese people.

“Canadians were deeply saddened by the tragic explosion that occurred in Beirut on Tuesday. We stand in solidarity with the Lebanese people and with all Lebanese Canadians living in Montreal and across the country. I hope this special illumination of the Samuel De Champlain Bridge will bring some comfort and a sense of support to all those who have been affected directly or indirectly by this tragedy.”
