What: Missouri Route 96-to-eastbound-I-44 ramp OPEN underneath I-44 (Mile Marker 58) at Halltown

When: As of 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 6

Details: This segment of the project opened to traffic ahead of schedule. Contractor crews built an arch under I-44 replacing the eastbound and westbound bridges over Route 96.

This is part of a larger project, I-44 Project Bridge Rebuild, to replace or rehabilitate 19 bridges on I-44 between Halltown and Sarcoxie. Some of the bridges are original to the construction of I-44 in the 1960s. Completion date for the project is December 15, 2021. However, the contractor has set a goal to have all major bridge work complete by the end of 2020.
