The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that he will be travelling to Italy, the Middle East, and Lithuania from June 27 to July 8.
On June 28 and 29, Minister Garneau will attend the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, the ministerial meeting on Syria and the G20 Foreign Ministers’ and Development Ministers’ Meeting in Italy. These meetings are an opportunity to engage with partners and allies, strengthen multilateral relations, discuss pressing global security challenges, and further international economic cooperation. The Honourable Karina Gould, Minister of International Development, will join G20 discussions virtually.
Minister Garneau will then travel to Jordan, Israel and the West Bank to advance Canada’s support towards the goal of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the region and a 2-state solution.
The Minister will end his trip in Lithuania, where he will attend the Ukraine Reform Conference (URC) and engage with partners and allies.
