CASS COUNTY –The Route J Bridge in Peculiar, Missouri, will close beginning Sept. 7 for a bridge rebuild. The bridge will be closed during the project, which MoDOT plans to have completed by the beginning of December.

There will be a signed detour for this road closure. Motorists are encouraged to use Interstate 49 between Peculiar and Belton, Missouri, and Missouri Route 58 from Belton to the intersection with Route J, north of the bridge.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
