Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration:
CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Cory Thames will serve as a Member of the Chicago State University Board of Trustees.* Thames currently serves as the Chief Engagement Officer for the Business Leadership Council. He has previously worked for the Chicago Department of Aviation, the Chicago Mayor’s Office, Chicago City Clerk’s Office, and has served on the Metra Board of Directors. Thames also previously worked as the Deputy Director of Community engagement at the Obama Foundation. Thames received a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University Northwest and Bachelors’ degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University.
CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL
Nathan Pietrini will serve as a Member of the Children and Family Services Advisory Council.* Pietrini currently serves as the Executive Director of High Jump, an organization focused on providing educational equity and access for economically disadvantaged students in the City of Chicago. Pietrini previously served in Chicago Public Schools for a decade, in the roles of Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Pietrini received a Doctor of Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Master of Arts from Seton Hall University and Bachelors degree from Taylor University.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD
Craig Bradley will serve as a Member of the Community College Board.* Craig Bradley has served on the Shawnee Community College faculty for nearly 30 years, teaching courses in computers, astronomy, and electronics. Bradley is the advisory of the Alpha Lambda Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Shawnee Community College. Bradley owns and operates a Disk Jockey business and has previously served as a Trustee, and later as Mayor of Karnak, Illinois. Bradley received his Bachelors’ and Masters’ degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
James Fuentes will continue to serve as a Member of the Finance Authority.* Fuentes has served on the Finance Authority since his original appointment in 2004, and currently serves on the Conduit and Direct/Alterative and Financing Committee. He is the former CEO of Clarity Communication Systems, Inc., a company that specializes in wireless product development for numerous Tier I carriers, Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies. He is a former Board Member and Chairman of ISCO International. A recognized leader in the field, Fuentes is the recipient of the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Award and received six patents during his service at Bell Laboratories. He received his Bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION COMMISSION
Jacqueline Hickey will serve as an Arbitrator on the Workers’ Compensation Commission.* Hickey currently serves as a Trial Attorney for GWC Injury Attorneys where she has garnered experience working on a range of cases including medical malpractice, construction negligence and large trucking accidents. She previously served as a Law Clerk to Goldberg Weisman Cairo and O’Connor & Nakos. Hickey is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, WCLA 1018, and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. She holds a Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School and Bachelor of Science from DePaul University.
