ALBUQUERQUE, NM --- Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas and 5th Judicial District Attorney Dianna Luce announced that Jorge Rico-Ruvira has been returned to the United States to stand trial for the murder of Isela Sanchez, the mother of his son. Jorge Rico-Ruvira is alleged to have committed an Aggravated Battery against Isela Sanchez in October of 2019, and then in January of 2020 to have strangled Isela Sanchez to death. It is alleged that he then took their three-year-old son Osciel Rico to Mexico, leaving Isela Sanchez’s seven-year-old daughter alone in the house with Isela Sanchez’s body. An Amber Alert was issued for Osciel Rico.
