Yesterday, Administrator Samantha Power met with Simon Harford, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) as well as Raj Shah, CEO of The Rockefeller Foundation, GEAPP founder and former USAID Administrator. They discussed the shared ambitions of USAID and GEAPP including expanding electricity access, averting catastrophic climate change, and building programs so that the benefits of the global transition to renewable energy are widely shared. Among the topics discussed were collaboration opportunities under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) in South Africa as well as health facility electrification.
