DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector arrested a suspect in a missing persons case shortly after he illegally entered the United States, April 18.

Agents apprehended a group of 12 near Eagle Pass after they illegally entered the United States. During processing, agents from the Big Bend Sector’s Foreign Operation Branch reached out to advise that one of the men arrested was wanted for questioning in Mexico. The man, a 36-year-old who was recently residing in Mexico, was the last known contact of a United States Citizen who was reported missing in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on April 15.

The man was turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service pending release to the Government of Mexico.

“This arrest highlights the importance of our networks and international partnerships,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Jason D. Owens. “These efforts will prove crucial in working to solve this missing persons case.”
