Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, to discuss Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan and U.S. support for Nigeria’s elections process. Vice President Osinbajo shared current plans for Nigeria’s energy transition, and the two discussed how the U.S. can partner with Nigeria in their efforts to develop the country’s energy and power sectors.  Administrator Power expressed support for Nigeria’s twin objectives of achieving universal access to energy by 2030 and a carbon-neutral energy system and congratulated the Vice President on the launch of this historic plan. 

Administrator Power also commended President Buhari on upholding Nigeria’s democracy by respecting the term limits.
