Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs Daniel P. Erikson hosted a senior delegation from Honduras led by Presidential Advisor Hector Manuel Zelaya Castro, Minister of Defense José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, and Chief of Defense Vice Admiral José Jorge Fortín Aguilar for bilateral meetings at the Pentagon.  DASD Erikson and the Honduran delegation discussed the importance of strengthening the bilateral defense relationship between the U.S. and Honduras, respect for human rights, and deepening defense cooperation on environmental protection.  The U.S. and Honduran delegations pledged to continue working together to combat shared transnational threats.
